Education through Art – Policies, Practices, and Challenges

On the 19th of September, 2025, the University of Madeira will host a colloquium at the Jesuit College (Funchal), dedicated to critical reflection on the role of arts education in the holistic development of students. Throughout the day, the event will explore public policies, innovative pedagogical practices, and the intersection between art, culture, and technology. The program includes keynote lectures by Prof. Maria Helena Vieira from the University of Minho and Prof. Rosa Serrano from the Universidad de Zaragoza, as well as a roundtable discussion with experts from the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Participation counts as 6 hours of accredited training for several teaching recruitment groups, subject to validation by the DRE.
